The Monkey’s Paw is the Gift of Television, Where All Wishes Are Granted Temporarily

Monkeypaw Productions company, founded by Jordan Peele, is named after the 1902 “The Monkey’s Paw” horror short story by author W. W. Jacobs. It’s only nine pages and free online. I encourage you to read it—in fact, it’s required in order to understand what I write below. I have to say that it’s only nine pages because the television has made it so that people don’t read as much anymore. They’re captivated by the cheap and fleeting thrills on the TV screen, the wishes granted temporarily in fantasy land as they live vicariously through actors. Here’s the still-image logo:

The tea cup from Get Out is a symbol of hypnosis. The monkey’s paw or disembodied hand above is Satan’s hand hypnotizing the viewer. In the short story, the monkey’s paw, its supernatural power, and fire is a representation of Satan. The television screen is represented by the window behind the monkey’s paw and tea cup, where the hypnosis and temporary wish-granting occur. The disembodied hand forms the 666 sign, which means that those who are hypnotized by the television, a miracle created by Satan, receive the mark of the beast. They are given over to Satan and are no different from animals because they don’t have God’s Holy Spirit.

The TV has made people dumber: They read less and think less because the TV does the work for them; it fills their time and thoughts with pleasant fantasies and excitement. They become dumb and detached from reality. In a dream, what appeared to be the second biblical flood came in the form of a huge wall of water in the shape of a flat screen. Those who were caught in the water before it finally released them had brain damage because they were under water for too long. I guess that means prolonged viewing of television causes brain damage because the mind is not being challenged or growing. Here’s the intro film logo for Monkeypaw Productions:

Instead of leaving at the exit (Get Out), the viewer turns left to watch the Monkey’s Paw stirring in the hypnosis tea cup; all wishes granted on the captivating fantasy screen. But “he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.” (Matthew 25:33). Therefore, those who choose the goat’s side on the left and who are seduced by Satan’s disembodied ghost hand, after having been defeated by God (Luke 10:18) and existing as an undead vengeful ghost who torments inhabitants of the earth, fall under Satan’s spell and are pleasantly surprised to find a monkey’s paw that grants wishes on a screen. They slowly lose their mind and soul while being captivated by Satan’s hypnosis on the screen. And they no longer want to leave.

But what can an undead vengeful ghost really give you? What does he have to give? I’ll tell you what he will take away: your soul while you are distracted by his sleight of hand.

Satan’s no dummy. He’s a wise old serpent (Revelation 12:9), which is why Christ said, ” Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves” (Matthew 10:16). How was Jordan Peele able to convincingly and impressively be so many different characters and voices in Key & Peele? What if he was granted the wish of great acting ability, provided to him by legion. “And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many” (Mark 5:9).
