The Christian God in Film

The Christian God in Film
by Sabrina Dawkins

People are incredulous concerning God’s limitless power and ability. “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27). God can perform Inception on the Hollywood writers, directors, and producers and speak through their Hollywood films. He does it as a last-ditch effort to try to save souls because people aren’t reading the Bible nowadays. So, he tries to encourage them to through what they are watching. Since people watch entertainment more than they read in this day and age, God tries to reach them where they are.

    1. He set it up so that belief, faith is voluntary. Therefore, he gives information – the entire Bible – to prove his existence and also makes himself known in other ways. Humans decide whether or not they will follow him.

      1. With all due respect, I believe we as humans don’t decide rather to follow God or not. God chooses us by blessing life in us to live and to perfect it.

        1. I was given information through dreams when I was godless and through “coincidences” and other subtle means. I chose whether I would acknowledge or ignore the calling.

        2. God doesn’t force anyone to love or follow him. It is a choice. He provides the information. You make the decision. “And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.” Matthew 10:14

“If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.” John 15:24

          1. So let me ask you this question. What suppose to happen to the individuals who choose not to follow God?

  1. If they spiritually die, (keeping in mind God has limitless powers -which means God knew what choices every individual is going to make before God created them) Why would God create such individuals to begin with?

    1. Hell is when beings are given a choice and they make the wrong choices. God didn’t want it to be this way: “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9)

He could’ve made robots with no free choice, but he wanted complex, intelligent beings with the ability to choose what they want.

It wouldn’t be a full experience for anyone if we weren’t allowed to see the wrong choices made by those around us and allowed to choose whether or not we want to follow in their path. Temptation is having multiple choices and choosing the right one because there is internal goodness that leads us to ultimately choose the one true good.

But if there is only spiritual death and demons inside, then the tendency is to challenge God or be repelled by him instead of follow him. And again, the experiences of those who reject God are important to a full experience of life because those who will follow God can see how those who do not end up, and then base their decision also on the fate of others.

  2. Listen, we are all living to reach perfection. That’s how beautiful God is. We might go through something’s that might seems we are far from God but only to get closer to God. God created everything and everything was meant through God. I truly believe Roman 14:11.
