The Fallen Angels Create Giants – Genesis Chapter 6
by Sabrina Dawkins
The sons of God were angels. They saw the daughters of men on the earth and were attracted to them, so they took them, as many as they wanted, and had children with them. Genesis Chapters 18 and 19 show that angels can materialize as men. So intercourse between an angel and a human is not inconceivable. The result was the creation of giants that became famous warriors that existed during those times and then in future times: There were also offspring between human women and the sons of God after the flood (Numbers 13:33).
The angels were given free choice to obey or disobey, just as Adam and Eve were given free choice. God did not create man as an automaton, he gave him the freedom to choose which path he would take, while also giving helpful, life-giving instructions.
The earth became very corrupt. Man had descended into a purely beastly nature and no longer longed for a connection with God. And God cut the long lifespan of man down to 120 years. Man had become only flesh, had chosen the lust of the flesh over a spiritual connection with God, and had therefore chosen the world instead of God (1 John 2:16).
But Noah found favor. Notice that Genesis 5 lists the generations of Adam, and Genesis 6:9 introduces the generations of Noah. It appears that God chooses the man closest to him, a morally upright man to father the chosen seed. Noah represents a starting over, a going back to Adam, where God hopes to create morally upright offspring through a man who will listen to him.
So God instructs Noah to make an ark, and Noah is obedient and follows his instructions. Noah, his wife, his three sons, and their wives will be saved, along with two of every kind of living creature to breed with its own kind.
