Two-Hour Pretend Black Revolutionaries
by Sabrina Dawkins
This is America.
Donald Glover is not playing a character.
He’s a real-life caricature
who entertains them,
killed the real musician
dressed in white.
Programmed to “Get your money,”
while kenneled in the backyard
by his owner/enemy.
The “genius” video
by Childish Gambino
where he only kills black people,
but it’s “deep” because his fans aren’t
and don’t realize why
on Saturday Night Live
the Get Out star
introduced him
as the real sunken place victim
performing his hit single.
The depths of deceit:
Crawling out of hell
are possessed brown bodies
regarded as woke,
as they perform music
for only the “Redbone.”
Nihilistic narcissists
who see the ship going down.
They say, “Might as well
make a profit.”
But Nate Parker is not Nat Turner,
far from it.
After film, targeted
audience applauds.
Malcolm X says he’s sick of fat frauds
using his name to stuff their pockets,
yes, even Denzel Washington,
who also plays gangsters and devils,
now unfortunately linked to a real hero.
You want a hero,
read about those who gave their life
for no financial gain,
not two-hour fakes;
the pamphlet by Thomas Gray,
the two Testaments,
and Malcolm’s autobiography.
It takes longer than two hours
to get the facts straight.
