Satan’s Morality

Satan’s morality comes from outside,
in blue uniforms,
and cameras,
and nightsticks.
The investigators look at you
with cold eyes
and tight lips.
They can’t give you advice
because that would break
the façade of being objective.
You’ve committed a crime
so forced correction consists
of being caged.
But caging an animal
only breaks the spirit.
Holy Spirit morality
resides within,
so no clunky cameras,
or uniforms, or nightsticks, or guns
to force pretend obedience.
There’s no stranger
to arrest
as part of procedure.
There’s only God’s eyes to direct
and nudge those inclined to obey him.
