The Easy Way is Not the Easy Way

The Easy Way is Not the Easy Way
by Sabrina Dawkins

Thank you for saying,
“Remain alert at the wheel.”
The human body
is a boat
that sails
across a storm-tossed sea,
the demons underneath
shaking it off course
while trying to rip the anchor off.
In modern times
they use a subtle approach:
make God’s path seem the tougher road.
The ship sails smoothly,
floating the wrong way
until it’s too late.
Why garden with fertilizer
produced by nasty human waste
when you can rely on electricity
and receive food
for no work, free?
Satan will take care of you
in electric luxury,
you rebels,
you kings and queens,
for all eternity
in his barless prison
you won’t want to leave.
