The Godless Gambler

The gambler flipped a coin
on a godless career
and worshiped Lady Luck.
He became Harvey Dent,
Goat Town’s White Knight
but Joker’s pawn.
Two-Face, Joker had a plan.
He didn’t reveal it to you.
The plan was to destroy souls
with paper that burns
and negative life events
which he in fact caused.
You could’ve been Job.
You lost eternal hope
and became a goat,
flipping a coin
till it gave you the wrong side,
thinking chaos ruled the world
and no one would see
that you chose chance over God,
and your luck ran out.
And in your soul’s absence,
the only thing left inside
the body suit was chaos.
And it found out the hard way,
as Ahab did in his death,
that God also rules chance. (1 Kings 22:34)
