Moses Hogan
dressed in a white silk suit
in the pulpit
on the right wing
playing two keyboards
at the same time
like Bob Marley’s keyboardist
in 1979,
the Santa Barbara concert.
I watched fingers as a blur
breathe out a masterpiece.
But for some reason
the keyboards were turned down.
I tried to strain
my ears to hear
and zoom in on fingers
speed-dancing across keys
while volume declined.
But I could still hear faintly
as his fingers shined.
